About the event

Our 11-night classic Austria tour.

Newcastle to Ijmuiden ferry leaves 1700 on Friday 28th June for the overnight crossing with dinner, bed & breakfast.

Hull to Rotterdam leaves 2030 on 28th June for an overnight crossing with Dinner, Bed and breakfast.

Dover - Calais most times available

Dunkirk or Hull most times aavilable.

Ferry is not included in the price. Please message us for a price as they change depending on capacity of the ferry companies.

Day 1. Breakfast on the boat if travelling Newcastle or Hull before heading South out of Holland to the autobahns & head to our overnight hotel in Stuttgart. No dinner provided but restaurants nearby. Parking included. Those using Dover crossing will be given a joining point and directions after booking.

Day 2. After breakfast we walk around the corner to spend the morning at the Porsche Museum. A real pleasure for all Motorheads. In the afternoon we head back onto the autobahns until we see the mountains past Salzburg. We stay at the foot of the mountain looking up at Hitlers Eagles Nest. No dinner provided but places to eat nearby.

Day 3. Breakfast then we drive a few minutes to the bus station. This is no ordinary bus station. We head up the mountain and spend a couple of hours in the Eagles Nest where we will have lunch. Then back on the bus to collect our cars.

It's not far before we hit the Grossglocker high alpine road. This must be the world’s greatest driving road for both scenery and driving thrills. We spend some time at the top & visit a motor museum, before heading to one of my personal favour places, the Edelweißspitze. Simply superb views. This is a truly unforgettable day.

We then head down the other side of the mountain to our overnight hotel. No dinner provided but restaurant on site.

Day 4. Breakfast then once again, we pack our cars and head over the Jaufen pass & Timmelsjoch pass where we stop for lunch and time permitting a visit to an amazing motorcycle museum. To be honest we’re all car guys but we still enjoy what this museum has to offer. Then on to our next hotel where we stay for the next 4 nights. Dinner bed and breakfast is included. Day 5. Breakfast before a nice easy day. We head straight onto the scenic roads of the Silvretta pass. Lunch on the side of a lake before heading back across the mountains to our hotel. Evening meal included.

Day 5. Breakfast then another nice easy day. We drive the Kaunergrat National Park and on to the Kaunertal glacier road. Lunch at the top is usually Goulash soup. Back down the same road to our hotel. Evening meal included.

Day 6. Well, I can tell you today is unforgettable. After an early breakfast it only gets better's as we head further South into Italy where we drive past the sunken villages of Resia. Then it on to the famous Stelvio pass. Top gear described this pass as the best driving road in the world, but you will be the judge of that after driving it yourself.  We have lunch at the top, a sausage in a bun (Don't knock it until you've tried it) and then drive down the opposite side as we head for Switzerland, stopping in Livigno en-route where we stock up with cheaper petrol, wines, spirits and cigarettes to take home. Then back to our hotel for the evening meal.

Day 7. Breakfast and straight into the mountains and sweeping bending roads again. Lunch in the mountains overlooking a lake on the Silvretta pass, worthy of many an Instagram photo shoot. Then back to the hotel for our evening meal.

Day 8. Pack our bags before early breakfast then leave for our next hotel. Today's route is back across the Fern pass into Southern Germany where we pick up the autobahn. Time permitting, we will have a 2-3 hour visit the Sinsheim Technic Museum which is 5 minutes away from the overnight hotel. This is our favourite transport museum, cars from every era, planes you can go in and look around including the Concorde and everything else with an engine. No dinner provided but restaurant onsite.

Day 9. Breakfast & up the autobahn for a couple of hours before driving through the Rhine Valley stopping for lunch on the Rhine. We then head North and have the afternoon at the famous Nürburgring & a tour of the pits & drivers’ areas. Take your car on the Ring if you feel the need but I won't be.

Then we have a short drive to our overnight stay in an Abbey. No dinner provided but restaurant onsite.

Day 10. Breakfast then up through Holland to Ijmuiden or Rotterdam (unless using Calais or Dunkirk) where we board the overnight ferry back home, have our evening meal and a beer chatting about all our unforgettable memories & planning the next trip before a good night’s sleep.

We arrive home 0900 on Tuesday 9th July into Newcastle or Hull.

See you all there.
